About the Resort
The original barefoot castaway resort.
Gili Lankanfushi pioneered the overwater-villa-as-castaway-retreat concept in the Maldives. No shoes, no news, no walls on three sides of the villa. Every residence has a private boat captain assigned for the stay. The island is close enough to Malé for a short speedboat transfer, far enough to feel wholly separate.

Honest assessment
Who this resort fits, and who it doesn't.

- +Design lovers - the open-sided Crusoe Residences are still unmatched
- +Honeymooners who want romance without ceremony or dress codes
- ·Guests who want polished service - Gili is charmingly unstructured, not perfectly choreographed
- ·Families with very young children - the overwater focus and open design require constant vigilance
- ·Travellers who want a gym, tennis, or multiple restaurants - the footprint is intentionally small
